Bio

Silvia studied composition at the conservatoire in Italy and at Mozarteum Universität Salzburg, while completing a degree in electronic engineering. She holds a PhD from Goldsmiths, University of London, where she also worked as Associate Lecturer. Silvia’s music is performed internationally at festivals such as Biennale Musica (Venice), MATA (NY), ECLAT (Stuttgart) and the hcmf (Huddersfield), where she also performs with electroacoustic instruments she designs and produces herself. Silvia was Fellow in residence at Akademie Schloss Solitude, Le Vivier, and at the Centre for Human-Computer-Interaction of the Salzburg University. In 2020, she was awarded a EASTN-DC residency by ZKM, collaborated with the Center for New Media Culture RIXC (EMAP/EMARE) through a EMAP/EMARE residency and, in the following year, she was in residence at the SWR Experimentalstudio. In 2022, Silvia was in residence at AdK Berlin and was awarded the Hannsmann-Poethen Literaturstipendium along with poet Kinga Tóth for Electrical Jungle, a intermedia music theatre performance. Silvia is professor of Computer Music and a member of the doctoral board at Conservatorio Benedetto Marcello in Venice.
